Journey Together Master Set Checklist & Promo Guide

What Is a True Journey Together Master Set?

When collectors talk about a “master set,” they often mean different things. For some, it’s simply one copy of every numbered card in the set. For others, a master set includes reverse holos, promos, pre-release cards, and special stamped variants tied directly to the expansion.

For this guide, we are defining my Journey Together English Master Set as:

  • All standard set cards

  • All reverse holo versions where applicable

  • All officially released Journey Together–related promos and stamped cards

  • All pre-release and staff variants

  • Excludes PLAY stamped league promos

  • Excludes unrelated blister promos from other sets

This strikes a balance between completeness and sanity, while still respecting how The Pokémon Company actually distributed Journey Together–branded cards.

So, Where Am I at in Completing This?

As of April 12, 2026, my Journey Together master set sits at 99.04% complete, with just a single card standing between me and completion: the elusive N's Zoroark ex Master Ball League Promo (#098/159). Unlike most modern promotional cards, this Southeast Asia-exclusive prize card was awarded only to Top 4 finishers in Pokémon Asia Championship Series Master Ball League events, making it extraordinarily scarce. Based on available tournament information, the total population may be as low as a few dozen copies worldwide, placing it among the rarest modern-era Pokémon cards ever distributed. Its rarity is further amplified by the exclusive Master Ball League stamp, which distinguishes it from the standard release version. Valuing a card like this becomes difficult because traditional market forces break down when so few copies exist. Unlike typical cards that can be priced through recent sales data, this card's value is largely determined by the willingness of one collector to sell and another to buy. While pristine graded examples could command anywhere from hundreds to several thousand dollars, the true challenge may not be affording the card, but simply finding one available for purchase at all. For now, it remains the final missing piece of my Journey Together collection and the ultimate long-term chase card. I’ve decided that 99.04% is good enough for me.

I’m also choosing to include the Japanese-exclusive promo Iono’s Wattrel (232/SV-P) in this collection. While not required for an English master set, it’s a beautiful card that was released alongside the Japanese equivalent set, Battle Partners, and it feels like a fitting addition to this journey.
